This retreat takes us to the heart of the beautiful Yorkshire Dales for a weekend of pure self indulgence. If you’re in need of an opportunity to fill up your well both physically, emotionally and ‘spiritually’ then this is without a doubt the retreat for you.  

Join me, Paula Lawson and award winning blogger/self care queen Laura Agar Wilson, for a weekend of walking, wellness and a hint of ‘woo’ in the heart of the magnificent Yorkshire Dales.

What’s included in the package…

  • Two nights full board accommodation at the family run 4 star Coniston Hotel Country Estate and Spa, Yorkshire. The Coniston is an award winning hotel and spa set in 1400 acres of beautiful rolling dales countryside just 7 miles from the market town of Skipton.
  • Your relaxing stay will be in your very own classic ensuite room which includes a complimentary bathrobe and Aromatherapy Associates relaxation essentials.
  • Full spa access for the duration of your stay. The Coniston hotel boasts a 15m indoor pool, sauna, steam room, spa pool and a heated ourdoor infinity pool overlooking the lake. (Please note treatments are not included but these can be booked seperately via the hotel).
  • A full day guided walk in the beautiful Yorkshire Dales led by a professional guide. A chance to breath in that fresh air, reconnect with nature and totally unwind. The Yorkshire Dales makes for a perfect day spent in the great outdoors with it’s endless valleys, dry stone walls and meandering country lanes. Grab your boots and your camera and forget about everything else for a few hours. 
  • Two hour wellness workshop with award winning blogger and self care queen Laura Agar Wilson followed by a buffet style lunch. 
  • Your stay at the Coniston will also include a 3 course evening meal on both Friday and Saturday evening, a full Yorkshire breakfast on Saturday and Sunday morning, a delicious packed lunch for your walk in the dales and a ‘Yorkshire tapas’ buffet style lunch on the Sunday. The Coniston has a reputation for serving high quality, predominantly locally sourced food, prepared by a team of talented chefs.

Paula Lawson is a health and wellness coach and is the founder of Be Happy, Be Bright, Be You. She is passionate about helping women to realise their own self worth. Paula fell in love with hiking and adventure back in 2013 after a week long holiday in the Lake District and has never looked back.

Example Itinerary

Friday

Guests will arrive from 3.00pm onwards on the Friday. Take some time to get yourself settled in to your room and then join us for an informal prosecco reception where you will get to meet and chat to your hosts, Paula and Laura, as well as take some time to get to know your fellow guests.

Then why not take some time to make use of the amazing spa facilities at the Coniston. This would be a great opportunity to enjoy one of the fabulous treatments on offer (please note these are not included in the package and will need to be pre booked with the hotel). 

At approx 7.30pm we will sit down to a delicious 3 course meal in the hotel restaurant prepared for us by their team of talented chefs. The rest of the evening is then yours to sit and relax in the bar/lounge or head back to your room and enjoy some quiet time with a good book.

Saturday

Saturday morning will begin with a delicious and freshly prepared Yorkshire breakfast at around 8.00am.

After breakfast we will head out into the Yorkshire Dales for our full day of walking. If this is a new experience for you then you will quickly realise why it is one of my favourite past times and why I often find myself craving being back on the hills.

During our walk we will be taking some time to do some reflection and intention setting. Where better than in nature to indulge in a little spiritual work?

We will also enjoy a leisurely picnic lunch which the hotel will have prepared for us. Bring your camera as you’ll not want to miss the many fantastic photo opportunities.  We will head back to the hotel for around 4pm so that you have plenty of time to relax and perhaps enjoy a swim in the heated outdoor infinity pool overlooking the lake.

Sunday

Sunday morning begins again with another delicious freshly prepared Yorkshire breakfast at around 8.30am. Take some time to enjoy a quiet walk around the beautiful hotel grounds and soak in the scenery that is on offer at the fabulous venue or maybe take one last morning swim.

At 10.30am Laura will be leading a two hour wellness workshop. As promised we will also be adding a little ‘woo’ to our workshop!!

At 12.30 we will enjoy a final buffet lunch together before we say farewell and you leave us rested and feeling grounded and with a sense of clarity and focus.

FAQ’s

Do I need to be an experienced walker to take part in the retreat?
Not at all. The walk is designed so that ladies who are new to walking may also participate. We would recommend that in order to fully enjoy the experience participants should be able to comfortably to walk 10miles on flat ground (approx 4 hours) without any real concerns. 

Will I need to bring any specialist equipment for the walk?
A recommended packing list will be provided but we would recommend that you ensure you have a comfortable pair of walking boots, a good waterproof jacket and a rucksack for carrying your lunch as well as some water.

How will I get there?
By car:

From Gisburn
Head towards Hellifield on the A682, turn right onto the B6253 into Hellifield and then right again accessing the A65. Carry on the A65 and you will come across the hotel on the left-hand side.

From Skipton
Head towards Gargrave along the A65, keep going through Gargrave and through Coniston Cold on the same road. When you have passed through Coniston Cold the hotel will be on your right-hand side.

From Settle
Take the B6480 towards Long Preston, take the 1st exit at the roundabout on to the A65. Carry on the A65 towards Hellifield and you will reach the hotel on your left-hand side.

By train:

 The nearest railway stations from the hotel are Gargrave and Hellifield. However, if you are looking for a railway station with a taxi rank, the nearest station would be Skipton.

Are you able to cater for special dietary requirements?
All of the food available during your stay will prepared fresh and we will do I very best to accomodate any special dietary requirements. Please contact me should you wish to discuss.

Are spa treatments included in the price?
You will have access to the luxury spa for the duration of the retreat. Additional treatments are not included in the price of the retreat but can be booked in advance directly with the hotel on 01756 748080.

A deposit of £159.00 is required to secure your booking and the balance is payable no later than 4 weeks prior to the retreat.
