Pre-Christmas – Self Care Sunday

December 1st 2019 , Radisson Blu Hotel Durham, 9.00 – 5.00

For many of us December can be a hectic and stressful month as we prepare for the festive season. It can be so easy to get caught up in the whirlwind of trying to make everything perfect ready for the big day that often we neglect ourselves and end up exhausted by the time Christmas Day finally arrives.

My Pre-Christmas Self Care Sunday is the perfect opportunity to just take a step back from it all to breathe, relax and focus on your own well being for one whole day. Come and join me for a day of wellness designed to leave you feeling rested, rejuvenated and bursting with ideas to support your well being over the festive period.

I’m dedicating this final Self Care Sunday of 2019 to two subject areas that I’m super passionate about; juicing and guilt free indulgence!

I love to include juicing as part of a balanced diet and during this workshop I’ll be sharing with you some delicious recipes that are nutrient packed to help keep you feeling your best during the colder winter months.

The second part of the workshop has a much more festive theme as I share with you some of my favourite indulgent brands that I personally enjoy over the festive period. Delicious vegan ‘cheeses’, organic dairy free gourmet chocolates and so much more. A delight for the senses and an opportunity for some guilt free (almost!) indulgence!

And, as always, we will also be enjoying a peaceful walk along Durham’s beautiful riverside, indulging in a blissful restorative yoga session with the lovely Elaine Smith and finishing our day of wellness with a full afternoon enjoying the Radisson’s leisure suite including pool, jacuzzi, sauna and steam.

Take this opportunity to spend one whole day nourishing

body, mind and soul.

Your day includes:

A 2 hour winter wellness workshop with Paula. Includes a juicing demo/tasting and an introduction to my favourite indulgent vegan festive food brands.

A relaxing riverside walk with Paula and Elaine taking in views of Durhams historic cathedral and surrounding countryside.

A gorgeous 60 min restorative yoga session with yoga expert Elaine Smith.

A delicious buffet style plant based lunch prepared fresh for us by the chefs at the Radisson Blu Hotel (see sample menu in FAQ below)

A full afternoon of rest and relaxation in the Radisson’s very own leisure suite including pool, sauna and jacuzzi. (Includes use of robe and towel and exclusive offers on any additional spa treatments).

There will also be tea and coffee and light refreshments available on arrival and throughout the morning.

Total Price for the Day£67.00

May I take this opportunity to thank you so very much for a truly amazing day yesterday. It was beyond my expectations and I can’t wait to  do it again.

Please also extend my thanks to Elaine for a really lovely yoga session. Hope to join you again soon and once again, many thanks.

Thank you Paula and Elaine for a wonderfully restorative day. I thoroughly enjoyed it and felt very chilled and revitalised after it.

Thank you Paula and Elaine. Lovely to meet you and I had a relaxing, enjoyable day. It’s helped me to cope with a difficult time of year.

Thank you Elaine and Paula for a relaxing day, lovely to meet some new people too. Highly recommended to anyone who is thinking of some time out.

Thank you Paula and Elaine for a truly restorative day. Sam and I really enjoyed it. I too now have a juicer on my Christmas list!

Can I still participate if I am new to yoga?

Yes, this will be a restorative yoga session which will be designed to accommodate all abilities.

What will I need to bring with me on the day?

You will need to wear something suitable for a relaxed walk (including appropriate footwear) and also to participate in the yoga session. You will also need to bring swimwear for use in the leisure facilities in the afternoon. Although yoga equipment will be supplied please do feel free to bring your own yoga mat should you wish.

Are you able to accommodate dietary requirements?

The buffet is being prepared fresh for us by the hotel. It will be a delicious plant based buffet but if you have any further dietary requirements then we will do our very best to accommodate them and ensure you have an enjoyable lunch. Should you wish to discuss this further then please don’t hesitate to get in touch. An example menu would include: avocado and sundried tomato wraps, hummus and Mediterranean vegetable wraps, vegetable samosas, leek and potato soup, seasoned wedges, salad and a chocolate and orange torte.

Am I able to book additional spa treatments?

Although spa treatments are not included in the price of the day you are more than welcome to add a little more indulgence to your afternoon by booking additional spa treatments. You will need to do this directly with the spa by calling them on 0191 372 7223 or head to their website for more details. Discounts are available on Spa treatments. Simply mention you are attending a Be Happy Be Bright Be You event on booking.

Where is the best place for me to park?

The hotel has a car park that can take up to 130 cars and parking is complimentary for all workshop guests. Please ensure you do register your car with the hotel on arrival.

How far is the hotel from the train station?

The hotel is in central Durham down on the riverside. If you are arriving by train it will be roughly a 15-20 min walk to the hotel or alternatively you could grab a taxi from the station itself which would only take around 5 min.
